Universal Classic Monsters: The Essential Collection [15] Blu-ray Box Set
A collection of eight horror classics. In 'Dracula' (1931), estate agent Renfield (Dwight Frye) travels to Transylvania to arrange the sale of an English mansion to nobleman Count Dracula (Bela Lugosi).... In 'Frankenstein' (1931), scientist Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive) creates a monster (Boris Karloff) out of body parts acquired by his dwarfish assistant, Fritz (Dwight Frye), and succeeds in giving it life during an electrical storm... In 'The Mummy' (1932), an Egyptian archaeological expedition discovers a sarcophagus containing the mummy of priest Im-Ho-Tep (Boris Karloff), who was buried alive 3,700 years ago as a punishment for attempting to bring a vestal virgin he loved back to life... In 'The Invisible Man' (1933), a mysterious scientist (Claude Rains) discovers a serum that makes him invisible arrives in a small English village... In 'The Bride of Frankenstein' (1935), scientist Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive) finds himself blackmailed into creating a mate (Elsa Lanchester) for his monster by his former mentor Dr Praetorius (Ernest Thesiger). In 'The Wolf Man' (1941), Larry Talbot (Lon Chaney Jr) is bitten by a wild wolf-like creature and, when the next full moon comes round, finds himself transformed into the wolfman... In 'The Phantom of the Opera' (1943), Paris Opera House violinist Enrique Claudin (Rains) pays for beautiful singer Christine DuBois' (Susanna Foster) lessons without her knowledge. After tragedy strikes the horribly burnt, half-insane composer hides in the sewers beneath the Opera House, devoting himself to furthering Christine's singing career. Finally, in 'Creature from the Black Lagoon' (1954), an expedition exploring the Amazon River discover a 'Gill Man' - half man and half amphibian. After capturing the creature, it falls in love with the chief scientist's (Richard Carlson) female assistant (Julie Adams), and kidnaps her before making its escape.
